Norma Ritter, IBCLC
Norma Ritter is the mother of three grown, breastfed children, all of whom are weaned and toilet–trained. However, none of them sleep through the night because they now have children of their own :)
As well as offering both classes and individual consultations to
parents, Norma also offers presentations and trainings to Health Care
Professionals who are interested in updating their knowledge about
An experienced speaker who has
presented sessions at both local and international conferences, Norma
has authored many articles, pamphlets and essays about breastfeeding and
Norma has been helping mothers and babies breastfeed since she became a La Leche League Leader in 1976. This training and experience led to her becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 1995. She is a member of the International Affiliation of Tongue Tie Professionals (IATP), the International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA), the United States Lactation Consultant Association (USLCA) and the New York State Breastfeeding Coalition.
Norma is a founding member of Breastfeeding USA, and was its first Vice President. She currently serves on the Breastfeeding USA's Breastfeeding Information and Resource Department (BRAID), and the Continuing Education and Educational Writers Workgroups. Norma is also a founding member of the Capital Region Breastfeeding Network and the Empire State IBCLC Association.
